In the winter of 2021, I purchased a 4x5 film camera along with the necessary chemicals to develop film and began creating memento mori-style photographs at home. Using items I had around the house, such as fake skulls and horror movie memorabilia, I explored this unique artistic style. I experimented with a few different film mediums, including glass and tin, but achieved only minimal success with those attempts. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the time to fully dedicate myself to refining exposure and development techniques. I had hoped to get everything right on the first try, but that wasn’t the case. Despite the challenges, it has been a fun and rewarding project, though I’ve had to put it on hold due to the busy pace of my day-to-day job.
